This will be the theme of CANTO’s (The Caribbean Association of National Telecommunication Organisations) annual conference and trade exhibition.
The event this year is being hosted by Cable & Wireless (St. Kitts and Nevis Limited) at the Royal St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort. This event will run from the 19th to the 22nd June and is expected to be quite a dynamic gathering having as its theme (s) the new forces of ‘Liberalisation’ and the ‘CSME’ – two new developments impacting on the Caribbean economic and social landscapes.
CANTOS’ Secretary General, Regenie F Fraser.said the annual forum facilitates better understanding of the issues in a non-confrontational atmosphere and establishes a platform for intelligent dialogue among the stakeholders in the execution of their individual responsibilities.
Some 450 delegates and 60 exhibitors are expected to attend the 4-day conference so apart from participating in speeches and discussions, attendees will expect to have first class demonstrations on the various technology, equipment and services now available in the Caribbean.
It is expected that telecommunication services will play a major role in increasing regional integration and drive CSME’s growth in employment, investment and trade.
The CANTO official said that with the materialisation of regional integration, the Caribbean Single Market and Economy or CSME will increase economic activity and drive growth in employment, investment, and trade.
The holding of this premier regional telecommunication conference here is sure to provide a boost to the local economy.
